  • A Word from Pastor Benjamin

I greet you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ!

I am writing this letter to thank you for your support and to let you know that the Lord has led us to take some new steps for Him. We have good unity among our people and because of that it is impossible for the devil to destroy the work. The devil has tried before but it didn't work. We, the congregations and pastors, school teachers and principals, the founder of the work in Grand Reviere de Nord and I have been praying for the Lord to intervene. We have felt for some time that we should be independent but we have been waiting for God's time. The time has come where all of us have decided to withdraw from the leadership of Hope International Mission and move forward with the the plan God has for us. We do need your prayers and we are waiting patiently to see the deliverance of the Lord.

Support should now be sent to this address:

Benjamin Salvant, PO Box 464, Summertown TN 38483  Please make checks payable to Benjamin Salvant.

I am in American now and will be meeting with two pastors and one laymen who have a heart for our Haitian people and are working with us to see the work in Haiti grow and reach souls for God. At the meeting we plan to make things official in forming a new board for the work who will be handling all concerns about the work here. We hope in the near future to have legal non-profit status and be able to give you a tax deductible receipt for all who would like to receive one. When I return to Haiti I hope to have a more dependable means of communication and be better able to share with you how the Lord is blessing. We are now in America for business meetings and everything we are doing is not for personal interest but all for the progress of God's kingdom.

If you have an email address and would like to receive our newsletters by email, please send it to the address for support listed above or you can email us at haitianmission@gmail.com and we will see that you get added to our email mailing list.

May the Lord richly bless you for all your prayers and supports.

Your servant in the work of the Lord,

    Bro. Benjamin C. Salvant

  • Pray and Praise God!

Please pray for Benjamin Salvant while he is visiting in the states.  Pray for safe travels and open hearts as he share the burden God has placed on his heart for his people.  It is wonderful to know God is in control and will give us exactly what He knows we need as we obey Him.

  • Clarification

It has been brought to my attention that not everyone knows about all the works that Pastor Benjamin supervises and supports, so I will try to explain briefly about the work that this blog site was created to promote.

The work consists of 3 schools with each having 8 teachers and 1 principal, 8 churches with pastors and their families, besides the one Brother Benjamin pastors with 9 churches in all.  He also has 6 other workers whom he oversees that do various jobs for the mission work.  They are no longer receiving the support for the pastors and teachers that they have received in the past.  Past support for preachers and teachers was $1,240 a month, now it is $500 for teachers at one school.

When you consider the total income for the work in 2008 was $45,116.92, do the math and you will see why there is such a great need.  Please pray that God will burden the hearts of those who have to give to help support this worthy ministry endeavoring to preach the gospel of holiness.

This report comes from friends of Benjamin Salvant.  Brother Benjamin has not asked me to share this information.  I share it, so that all who read this will understand better the great need they have.

  • Urgent Prayer Needed

I have received word that Benjamin Salvant and the Haitian teachers and pastors are in desparate need of financial support.  They have not yet received the support they have been receiving monthly.  God is blessing the work and they are seeing people get saved, but the finances this summer have become an ever increasing need.  If you have a paypal account and would like to help, ALL money will go directly to the Haitian people, we do not keep any for ourselves.  If you do not have a paypal account and would like to help you can email me privately at abpbjp@gmail.com for an address to send the money.  If you are unable to help financailly, please pray that God will supply their daily bread.  Prayer is the greatest need!

Thanks in advance for all your prayers and support!

  • During the month of June the TLC (Touching Lives for Christ) group from Hobe Sound, FL, came to Haiti on a missions trip. The mission was truly fulfilled! Each day saw them in different homes praying, singing, and encouraging people to make friends with the Lord. Two of the men who came with the TLC group preached different times to the Haitian people. VBS was held for three days. What a joy to share the gospel with the children. One night there were 315 in attendance in a very small church. When an invitation was given to those who wanted to pray, it wasn’t difficult to have more than 70 children come to pray. We hope some took that step seriously and continue to walk with God.

Sunday, June 21st, was the last Sunday the group was in Haiti. We had a wonderful service with different churches in the area joining us for the morning service. We had to get up by 5:00 Sunday morning to move the benches out in the yard for the services. (If we had moved them outside on Saturday, they would have been stolen during the night.) The services started at 8:00 a.m. for Sunday school. The morning worship service started at 9:00 a.m. and wasn’t over until 11:45. The people sang 11 special songs that included singing from the team, as well. That evening we had a concert with the young people of the church and had a wonderful time.

We praise God for all that was accomplished while the TLC group was here!

P.S. Praise the Lord, the TLC group brought a water pump with them and we now can get water without hauling it.

  • Need for Solar Panels

We have a real need for a solar panel system in order to have electricity more regularly.  God had blessed us with a generator to use to pump our water and during our church services, but gasoline is so expensive that we cannot run the generator as often as we need electricity.  It is so hot here in Haiti that it is very difficult to sleep and the solar panel would provide the needed electricity to use a fan.  This would also provide a way for us to have ice during the extremely hot days, which would be such a blessing.  The solar panels would be much cheaper which would free up more money to spend on other needs.  The cost of the solar panels and all that it would take to get them in operation would be around $2,000.  If you can help with this need, we would greatly appreciate it.  If you can't help financially please pray that God will supply this need.  His storehouse has plenty.

New Converts

  • Carlo Jn Baptiste

    Carlo Jn Baptiste

This young man is the president of the youth and the director of one of the music bands. He is very talented, plays different kinds of instruments, is very nice, quiit and educated. He is studying music and painting. For a long time he thought he was Christian but later realized that he needed to know that he was saved. After a message was preached on “receiving pardon before the court of God” the Lord had talked to different people to the church and he was one of them. When the Lord showed me what was going on I went to him, presented the plan of salvation to him, and told him he needed to pray until he was sure of his salvation. He has did that and the Lord came and revealed His love another time to mankind. The next Sunday morning he testified of what the Lord had done for him. Before he had that experience with the Lord another church in the community wanted to give to him a salary to play the keyboard for them, but he refused because he felt that the Lord wanted him to stay in our church and we are not giving to him anything. God has been faithful to his soul. Please pray for him!
